The following are the rank requirements each student must know to be advanced. I have three colored belts and students earn strips on each one. The colors are white (beginner), green (intermediate) and Brown (advanced). In my school, the student must know everything. I don't have a percentage testing scale. Each section is broken upo into "chapter" style sections that are marked off as the student shows he knows the material. At the end the student is again reviewed and tested on all material. The Black Belt test consists of all the Rank requirements. I do not have a set time scale for testing. Performance, attitude and effort are the guidelines I use to determine if a student is ready to be promoted. If the student practices, comes to class regularly and shows the proper attitude they will advance faster than someone who doesn't. Please do not judge your child's advancement against another school. Rank requirements from one school doesn't equal that of another. I have a harder grading criteria than other schools and you child will be learning topic levels not taught by other schools. Your child will also be better prepared to deal with life and if he ever goes to another school will more than likely be ahead of the others with the same rank.
