Dojo Kun

Character: We shall strive to build our character. Make correct moral decisions and have both the mental and physical courage to act upon those decisions.

Sincerity: We shall be faithful to our studies. Be true to yourself and to other members of the dojo. It is the student's commitment to train hard and a teacher’s duty to teach well. The martial arts are a serious endeavor.

Effort: We shall cultivate courage and tenacity. Train hard at all times. It is not fair to your sensei or the other students to give less than your best effort in class. Persevere in your training and do not give up.

Etiquette: We shall attach great importance to etiquette. There is a saying in karate, "Karate begins and ends with respect."  We begin and end each class and most training drills with a bow of respect to each other. We should always show proper social behavior to teachers and to senior and junior members in class.

Self-control: We shall not lose self-control or act violently. Keep your fighting spirit in check so that you do not injure your training partner. In life, control your emotions, particularly anger and fear.
